Looking for ways to support immigrant and refugee families impacted by SNAP delays and impending eligibility changes? Below is a list of ways you can give your money or time to make sure local families are fed.

The cruel– and confusing – changes to the SNAP program in the midst of the government shutdown and as a result of H.R. 1 have a disproportionate impact on immigrant and refugee communities. Here’s how you can support partners working with RCP to make sure our folks are not left out from emergency response to this crisis.

Support RCP's Team

In times of crisis, immigrant and refugee folks often get left behind due to a lack of effective outreach in our communities. RCP’s team is playing the critical role of bridging the gap for Members who speak 10+ languages and have varying cultural dietary restrictions, even as we face funding cuts that threaten the future of our community-led model for support.

Donate or Volunteer with Table

Table provides healthy food and nutrition education to kids in Orange County, including many of our immigrant and refugee Members at RCP. Donate or volunteer to help pack or deliver food.

Donate or Volunteer with Porch

Porch is a grassroots organization powered by Neighborhood Coordinators who collect food and cash donations, and then distribute to families, including many of our volunteer Members. Donate or volunteer to support a food drive.

Donate to Al Muslim Net

This Raleigh-based organization is a lifeline for our families who eat Halal and need food support that meets their cultural and religious needs.

Donate to Transplanting Traditions

Transplanting Traditions farm supplies Southeast Asian vegetables to local partners (like Porch!) for distribution to refugee families to meet their cultural dietary needs. The Community Farm also supports food sovereignty in the refugee community through access to land, education and opportunities for refugee farmers.

Donate to Triangle Mutual Aid

Triangle Mutual Aid is a long-term partner that supports many immigrant and refugee families in times of crisis with solidarity not charity  – from natural disaster relief to emergency cash and food assistance. If you align with TMA’s Points of Unity and want to get involved, join our Community Signal chat!

Donate or Volunteer with Feed Durham

Black Indigenous Queer&Trans-led mutual aid collective keeping our neighbors fed since 2020. Feed Durham is standing in the gaps with grocery & supply distributions, community garden installations, skill-shares, and community cookouts serving lovingly prepared meals to 500+ folks a day.

Donate to Emanuel Food Pantry!

The largest food pantry in Durham, Emanuel Food Pantry serves more than 800 families a week, many of whom are refugees.

Donate to Zakat Foundation

The Durham chapter of this national organization provides food drop-offs, including accommodations for Halal and other dietary restrictions.

Donate or Volunteer with IFC

The Inter-Faith Council in Carrboro is a long-term partner that supplies fast food relief to immigrant and refugee families in crisis.
