Work at RCP
Who we're looking for
We’re a small, mission-driven community organization taking on the monumental challenge of democratizing public life, protecting cultural identities, and reconstituting relationships of mutual aid among neighbors. That means we need team members who are driven by their passion, show up for their teammates, and are down to work on projects outside the scope of their positions when needed. Regardless of role, we look for teammates who have a personal connection to our mission, and resonate with our Guiding North Stars.
About the Team & Office
- We are a vibrant constellation of community organizers, advocates, and systems thinkers that use creative experimentation to build community-designed initiatives. Here, co-learning is more important than being an expert; self-awareness and a great sense of humor holds more value than career achievements (though those are neat, too). We goof off and laugh *a lot*, and never miss an opportunity to express our gratitude and admiration for each other. As an organization, we believe *how* we do our work is just as important as what we do, and continually evolve RCP’s culture around anti-oppression, emotional intelligence, and shared leadership.
- We care deeply about each other’s mental and emotional wellbeing, and encourage rest and recovery when breaks are needed. Our PTO package includes Seasonal Rest (separate from vacation PTO), where the RCP office is closed for at least 1 week at the end of every season (spring, summer, fall, winter).
- The RCP office is located in downtown Carrboro, North Carolina. All positions work out of our office – with hybrid remote-office work optional depending on the position type and successful performance during the initial 90 day review period. Our office includes a co-working environment for those who like to work alongside teammates and other local organizations, and private office spaces for those who work better in quiet.
